“5D” refers to the drills’ extra facets, which catch more light for greater sparkle. “Full drill” means the entire image is covered in drills — edge to edge — rather than only part of it.

Round drills are faster and more forgiving (great for beginners and large pieces). Square drills tile edge-to-edge for a crisp, gallery-sharp finish and hold fine detail best. Both are full-drill. More detail in how it works.

Every kit ships with surplus drills, but if you still run short — even years later — we send free replacement drills for life. Just contact us with your kit and the colour number.

It depends on the size and detail. A small 20×20 cm canvas is an evening or two (around 3–8 hours), while a large, detailed piece can take 25+ hours across several relaxing sessions. Most makers work on theirs a little at a time — it’s meant to be enjoyed, not rushed. See the size guide for estimates by size.

No experience at all — if you can match a number to a colour, you can do it. And you don’t need to buy anything extra: the pen, wax, tray and full instructions come in every kit. Just add a flat surface and good light.

Easily. As long as the glue is still fresh, just lift the drill with your pen or tweezers and press it down in the right place. Diamond painting is very forgiving — there’s no way to permanently “ruin” a canvas.
